An interactive behind the scenes look at West Orange County. Topics include education, government, environment and the history of West Orange County. Leadership West Orange is an annual program that brings a group of Chamber members together for a variety of sessions. These sessions are held monthly and the primary mission is to raise the awareness of the key segments of the total West Orange community. Days are a combination of lectures, tours, hands-on experience and behind-the-scenes activities. Contact the Chamber about cost and enrollment.

Youth Leadership, a program offered to high school juniors, is mirrored after the Leadership West Orange program for Chamber Member Businesses.

VISIONING A GREATER WEST ORANGE: 2015
In February of 2003, the West Orange Chamber of Commerce began a community-wide visioning process. It gathered together a cross section of all the communities to develop a consensus about the future. An abundance of ideas were generated in the areas of transportation, quality of life, government, culture, social services, environment, business and employment, education, community and public safety.

Throughout the year at other events, the ideas were ranked in order of importance. With this comprehensive list, a stakeholders group of 25 people, over the course of a year, met to develop a strategic plan for the region, including a mission and vision statement. After an environmental scan, S.W.O.T. analysis and months of discussion, the group specified goals and some key objectives. The goals are:

Visioning 2015 Goals:
1. To establish and cultivate effective community partnerships with public and private entities
2. To promote and support activities that enhance economic-related opportunities in West Orange County
3. To support the development of a high quality transportation system that meets present and future demands
4. To encourage the protection and enhancement of the natural environment in balance with planned growth
5. To promote the development of diverse recreational and cultural facilities, programs, and activities
6. To promote and facilitate intergovernmental coordination related to the West Orange County strategic plan
7. To provide  diverse and superior educational opportunities for all citizens in West Orange County
8. To ensure that high quality health care is accessible and available to all citizens of West Orange County
9. To promote a safe environment in West Orange County… Throughout 2009, with coordination of the Chamber’s Economic Development Committee and community partnerships, implementation of some of the objectives will be initiated. Each year an update on the status will be presented at a Chamber event. For additional information, on specified objectives, contact the Chamber office.

The West Orange Chamber is proud to contribute $1 from all ticket sales for Chamber events to the West Orange Chamber Scholarship Program.
