Red Bandana BBQ and Roast is on hiatus for 2010 and will return in 2011

THE WEST ORANGE CHAMBER PROVES YOU CAN TEACH AN OLD DOG A NEW TRICK RED BANDANA BBQ & ROAST

They say you cannot teach an old dog a new trick, but the West Orange Chamber proved you can do just that when they resurrected the Red Bandana BBQ, and added a “Roast”. On March 5th 2009 the West Orange Chamber brought together a room full of well wishers, Roasters/Toasters and served up some great BBQ and managed to keep former Commissioner Teresa Jacobs on the edge of her seat as she endured some outlandish true and maybe not so true stories and tributes in her honor.

Scott Maxwell, Orlando Sentinel Columnist, led the evening’s proceedings as an eloquent Roastmaster by taking his shots at Teresa and his fellow Roasters. Bud Hedinger, Host of “Bud Hedinger Live!” on 540 WFLA Radio “lit the fire” with impersonations and witty remarks. Following Bud on the panel was President of CFHLA Rich Maladecki, former OCPS Board Chairman Karen Ardaman, West Orange Chamber President Stina D’Uva and Supervisor of Elections Bill Cowles.

Teresa also received special toasts from her former aides, Lynette Reynolds and Graciela Noriega-Jacoby, Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn, Windermere Councilman/Health Central CEO Richard Irwin,  Dick Spears, Scott Justice of Walt Disney World Company and Guy Haggard of Gray Robinson. Teresa had the last laugh as she was given the opportunity to do a little roasting of her own to conclude the evening.
